Within 24 hours, the servers for that game will open and we can jump in Tyria. Finally! Before then though, there’s a couple of exciting things you’ll want to be part of and some things you should know about the release of Guild Wars 2.
Saying Goodbye to Guild Wars
When the guild was founded in 2006 I thought it would be lucky to make it 2 or 3 years. 6 years on we’re stronger than ever and standing on the brink of a new era in our collective history. To celebrate everything that we’ve been through together in Guild Wars, we’re having a party tonight at 6:30pm UTC in our Guild Hall. There will be a quiz on general knowledge and Guild Wars trivia for fun. After that we’ll give away over 2000k and 200e to those attending as a goodbye gift, and get down to the serious business of playing dodgeball. There’s full details here.
With most of the active guild membership having pre-purchased or pre-ordered Guild Wars 2, today is likely to be the last busy day in the game. However, the guild will not be disbanded and if people want to organise nostalgic trips to teach Galrath a lesson then please do!
We’ll leave Guild Wars with great memories and good rewards for the future. I’m pleased to say that amongst the current MYST membership we have 15 people with 50 HoM points and a further 26 with 30 or more. The HoM Scheme gave away over 3000k of items to our members – thank you to everyone who donated. I also want to say thank you to everyone who got in game and helped others out with things that money can’t buy. Your time is precious and you’ve made this guild a better place by giving it freely.
Saying Hello to Guild Wars 2
The servers will open for Pre-Purchase Headstart between 4am and 7am tomorrow (UTC) and we will be making a home on Aurora Glade. If you want to make a character with a one word name or a two word name you didn’t reserve, you should consider getting up to make sure you get the name you want! Once a character is deleted, the name remains yours for 24 hours, so a good way to nab that name may be to make a random character, delete it and then spend hours on the character creator. Just make sure you put your pre-purchase bonuses in the bank before you delete your character!
It will take us a little time to get the guild up and running so be patient if you don’t get a guild invite right away. If you haven’t had an invite by 12pm UTC on Saturday please message a leader to get you invited.
There’s all kinds of useful information about the guild’s plans and policies on everything from spoilers to invites to events here. And as always, if it’s not clear please ask!
