[Guild Wars] 24-08-2012 - Farewell to Guild Wars

Thanks to Eki I've been able to confirm that dodgeball does still work. With that in mind I'm proposing the following schedule for the 24th:

6:30pm - Event start
6:40pm - 20 question general knowledge/Guild Wars/MYST quiz for fun
7:45pm - Distribute the last of the guild riches
8:00pm - Dodgeball

I'd be grateful if everyone who wants to play dodgeball could now reply on this thread to confirm they want to play and also say if they've played before. This will help me work out if we should just do free form matches or a proper tournament. You don't need to post if you just want to attend the quiz.

just looked at the whole calender thing whilst realising :O only 16 days to go!!.... and realised that Im only stupid oclock hours that week so i wont be popping along until about 7ish, giving me a chance to grab some noms aswell and make sure the dogs havent destroyed anything/one .....

Ladies and Jellies... the day is nearly upon us! While Marm is busy making a quiz to test your knowledge, I'm going to fill you in with how to play the wonderful game of dodgeball.

Your Character

To play dodgeball you will need a Me/E character with Windborne Speed, Lightning Orb, Air Attunement, Elemental Attunement (Elite) and Res signet ( Skill Template: OQZCAMyAphDa5AAAACA ).

The equipment you need is very specific. The entire game rests on being able to be killed with a single Lightning Orb, which means you need to end up with 105 health and basic armor. To do this, you need to take any set of max armor and add one of each of the 4 superior runes on the pieces. The mask should be a fast casting one and again, you should put a superior rune on it. You'll also need a wand (any with no bonuses) and focus (+12 energy in Air or Fast Casting, no bonuses). How to play

You'll be grouped with a few other players and will go into a scrimmage against another team in the guild hall. The object of the game is to kill the opposing player by hitting them with the ball (aka Lightning Orb) and dodge those coming towards you. First to 10 kills wins.

Keep your attunements up at all times to make your energy usage a lot easier. Use Windborne Speed to give yourself a short speed boost and help you dodge. Use Res to help each other up. And of course, use the Lightning Orbs to destroy the enemy!

Teams will be organised on the night, with the possibility of a tournament if we have 12 or more players.
