Beta Weekend 3 - Important Information

About the game

Once again there are a lot of changes to what is in this beta weekend and ArenaNet has helpfully posted a large blog post about it. Notably, the asura and sylvari starter areas are open for exploration along with a level 17+ area and the first activity is open - keg brawls.

Please remember to patch your client early - there's a large number of updates.

Everything is being wiped before this weekend except for contact lists. This means you won’t have any of your previously earned items, cash, characters or gems. The guild won’t exist and your choice of home server will have been forgotten. I will be making the guild as early as possible and you can speed up the process of getting everyone invited by adding me to your contact list - Tasha.9067.

We will once again be rolling on Lakeside County.

About what we're doing

Because of the wipe we won’t be doing any dungeon runs this weekend, but people are already planning what they’ll be doing. Add your plans to the list.

You can make the most out of your weekend by using our Ventrilo server. If you’ve not used it before you may find our new setup guide useful.

Please remember that story spoilers should be popped into the Spoiler room and not discussed on any public channel.

We will be having a group picture in Lion’s Arch at 19:00 UTC on Sunday and everyone in the guild is welcome! Check the UTC clock on the front page of this website if you’re not sure what time it is.

We'd love you to send us your screenshots to leaders@mysticspiral.co.uk or link them on this thread. We'll put them on Flickr and include them in our beta weekend gallery on this website. You can check out the ones from the second beta weekend here.

I don't know if it has already been stated somewhere, but will we keep our characters from this weekend when the game releases or will we have to start from scratch again?

Few other bits of useful information from the beta forums:

World Transfer
World transfer will be free and unlimited from Noon July 20 to 6:00 PM Pacific on July 21. After this period, you’ll need to spend gems for a transfer. Transfers will still be unlimited. The gem costs for a world transfer after 6:00 PM Pacific on July 21:

• 1800 gems to transfer to a high population world
• 1000 gems to transfer to a medium population world
• 500 gems to transfer to a low population world

Trading Post

• Dyes are now tradable in the Black Lion Trading Post.
• All items for sale must be posted for a unit price that is above the vendor value of the item (if the item has a vendor value).

Daily Gem Store – 20% Off
Each day during the Beta Weekend Event we’ll offer a different item on sale for 20% off in the Gem Store. All sales begin and end at midnight of each day.

Looks the the secondry reddit eu server will be lakeside, i know previous times you wanted to avoid those, just putting that out there

you sure, there only like.... 4 guilds listed as lakeside.
Whiteside ridge is the only one (currently) listed as a reddit server

... as i type that i think oh yea lets go check gw2 sub reddit.
as a secondry server i doubt many "redditors" will be on lakeside

This close to beta, I'm not going to worry. It'd be a good test to see how "bad" being on a server with a potentially large community will be, especially if ANet's trend is to launch with smaller, higher populated servers where it'll be harder for us to avoid them.

Edit: I'm not so worried about sharing a server with Reddit. I'm more worried about sharing a server with 4chan or Something Awful.
